Race Details:
We’re not just another 5K. Our run/walk seeks to raise money & awareness that while AIDS is a global health threat, it is also a major cause of death for Long Islanders. Cancer, breast cancer specifically, is also a major cause of death for Long Island women.
Race Day
Race packet-pick up between 6:45AM – 8:30AM. Race Day registrants, arrive by 8:15 AM. Water and energy drinks will be provided at the start of the race, mid-point and race finish. A sumptuous brunch will be provided at the finish as well. After the 5K there will be prizes and gift certificates given away by a FREE lottery drawing. USATF 5K certified running course starts and finishes at Baldwin Park, 3232 Grand Avenue, Baldwin, NY (two loops around course).
Take Grand Avenue South from Sunrise Highway and enter park. Drive 3/4 mile, road curves to left. Parking is just before tennis courts on the left side. Start and finish is west of tennis courts. Great event for kids as the entire Event is held within the park + Ronald McDonald + Chef Paula of LilChefs.com Special Events will be there.

Awards / Trophies: Top 3 male & female overall winners, top 3 masters male & female 40+, top 3 male & female under 12, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, and 85+.
$1,450 gift certificate prize package to winners
$100 to each winner m/f overall, masters (40+) and $25 to 2nd and 3rd place m/f overall, masters. $25 to each overall winner, m/f under 12, 13 - 15, 16 - 19 & to all 5 year age group winners through 85+.
T-shirts
Guaranteed to all participants signing up by May 28th (your NAME will be on the shirt). If you sign up after May 28, we will have limited t-shirts available on race day. Anyone not receiving an Event t-shirt will have one mailed to them after the Event.
$30 FREE gift certificates from restaurant/bars
The first 300 participants to register will receive $5 in gift certificates from 5 of my favorite restaurant/bars in Nassau County: Runyon's of Seaford; Lido Kosher Deli, A Whale's Tale, and The Cabana (all from Long Beach); + a $10 gift certificate from Giardinetto Ristorante Italiano of Inwood.
About the Proceeds from the Event
The Foundation will be raising money for Center of AIDS Research & Treatment at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset. The money will also be used for transporting patients for medical services and social gatherings organized by this group. The Foundation will also raise money to help children with pediatric cancer at Cohen Children’s Medical Center of New York, Long Island Breast Cancer Action Coalition, Five Towns AIDS Community Services Program, Ronald McDonald House, and social activities for people living with HIV or cancer.

Since 2008, the Richard M. In addition to what is noted above, the Richard M. Brodsky Foundation encourages people living with HIV or cancer to lead an upbeat lifestyle consisting of a daily run or walk. If there are any runners or walkers who are HIV-positive or cancer survivors, please write me at richard@richardmbrodsky.org, and your registration fee will be waived. This offer shall apply to a maximum of 100 people and your health status will not be disclosed.

9 AM start, race day registration, 6:45 AM - 8:30 AM, pre-race participants & race day registrants must pick up their bib by 8:30 AM. No dogs or strollers are permitted on the course.
